Beauchamp Triumphs at Mid-Ohio

Mike Beauchamp gave EMP Stewart Components a victory on the road course this weekend taking first place at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course Sunday.

Competing in his first-ever race at the track, Beauchamp (left) qualified on the pole with a lap of 1-minute, 31.7-seconds. The solid qualifying run put Beauchamp up front for the day’s main event and he stayed there, steering his EMP Stewart Components sponsored Van Diemen racer to his first win of the season.

"Our main goal this weekend was to learn the track and start setting up the car for the Runoffs," enthused Beauchamp.  "To end it with a win was icing on the cake and a big morale boost for me and the team.  This should position us well come September."

Beauchamp, who is now fourth in the Sports Car Club of America Formula Continental season standings, will return to Mid-Ohio for his next race – the SCCA Runoffs scheduled for September 25.
