About the Championship

The 4th Annual F1000 National Championship Presented by George Dean Racing Engines and Taylor Race Engineering is a season-long championship aimed at encouraging all FB competitors to enter as many SCCA national races as possible. The goal is to increase participation to 2.5 cars per race to maintain national status in 2010 and solidify the health of the class.

Drivers who are registered as an F1000 National Championship competitor will accrue points for race finishes in accordance with the regular SCCA national points system. In addition, program participants will be awarded two bonus point for each FB starter listed behind them in the final race results. A driver’s best six results in regular-season races will count toward the Cup. Drivers can score points in any SCCA-sanctioned National club race event in the 2009 season.
Even more points are available at the season finale to be held as part of the SCCA Runoffs held at Road America on September 25. During that race, drivers will earn double base points for the top nine finishers and no limit on bonus points.

As if that isn’t enough, there will also be an FB Super Sweep prize. To earn this award a driver must meet the criteria outlined by the SCCA: SCCA Super Sweep Info

In addition to the purse paid based on season points and the Super Sweep, there will be several other prizes to be announced later.
