Biography
Driving a friend’s D-Sports Racer, Mike entered his first driver school in 1992. The following year he bought a used Formula Ford and completed the required races to earn an SCCA National license. He campaigned that car for four years, often with little or no crew, culminating in a 3rd place finish in the Milwaukee Region Championship in 1997.
The following year he made the jump to the faster Formula Continental. After coming to grips with the increased horsepower, lap times dropped and a season of consistent finishes enabled him to win the Milwaukee Region Championship in 2000. Further development of both the car and driver in subsequent seasons saw increasingly higher finishes in both regional and national races.
2004 was a breakout year for Beauchamp. Choosing to focus on regional races and the TRO Manufacturing Area 5 Championship, he qualified on the pole and won the first race of his season, and career. The momentum continued, with two more poles and two more wins, both flag-to-flag victories. He never finished out of the top 5 and clinched the championship with one race left in the season.

2005 saw a jump to a full-time National schedule.  A trio of 2nd place finishes highlighted a season that included all top-10 finishes and an first-time invitation to the SCCA Runoffs.  A first-lap spin dashed any hopes of a top-five finish but set up a spectacular drive from last (34th) up to a 15th place finish in the National Championship.
